Hi, I'm Kathleen Gadeken

I'm an illustrator, writer, and the artist behind Fox Tree Art.

 

I create hopeful art for women living bravely–illustrated prints, gifts, and stories rooted in courage, curiosity, kindness, and faith.

I've always loved art and creating things, but didn't fully begin my art career until later in life.  What started with a small custom coloring book business eventually grew into children's book illustration, writing, prints, gifts, and making school visits.

​

Along the way, I learned that I didn't have to have it all figured out before I began.

I could start late. I could learn something new. I could be afraid and still move forward.

​My art is often playful and colorful, but underneath it all are the attributes I believe in: 

• Be Brave Every Day.

• Be Curious Always.

• Be Kind Naturally.

​

These three ideas have followed me through my entire creative work. They show up in my art, my writing, my school visits, and well, just about everything I approach in life!

​

When I'm not drawing, I'm usually writing, walking somewhere in the trees, working on a book idea, or wondering if it's too late to start another project. So far, the answer is always No. Never too late.
